We would like to honor Augustus, our Pet Hero. Augustus recently helped to save another dogs life. The other dog escaped his yard, ran into the street and was struck by a car. Badly injured, the dog was rushed to Suffield Veterinary Hospital. He was internally bleeding due to a ruptured spleen. He was in need of a blood transfusion very soon.

That day, Augustus was at Suffield Veterinary Hospital for his annual exam, though there was nothing routine about what happened next. Augustus' owner agreed to let Augustus donate blood to help save the life of his fellow canine. Blood was taken, then rushed to another room where the injured dog was desperately waiting. We are happy to say the other dog is now recovering well. Thanks to Augustus' selfless act, another dog's life was saved.
Our hats (and collars) are off in honor of Augustus, a true Pet Hero.
